When the national officers of the Sons of Utah Pioneers met with I Verdell Hinton, they were excited to open a new chapter in the deep south of Utah. As they began looking into this opportunity, they found a wealth of men willing and ready to join with them. Therefore, they began to organize. The men who had the courage and foresight to start this chapter are listed below. Our chapter today owes a great deal to this wonderful men.
The pictures you can scroll through in this section, are of the early years of Hurricane, from 1904 through 1929. They should give us a feeling of gratitude for our pioneer heritage who had to tame the land.
